Learning the types of service in the restaurants will help you determine what kind of restaurant would you like to work and prepare you for the job there! The different types of service require a different set of skills from the waiters and you should know what is expected of you once you hit the floor!
In French service, the waiters will be expected to do a lot of cooking, meat carving, fish filleting, and even sauce preparation.
In American service, you will be required to carry plates and trays.
In Russian service, you have to be able to serve food from a food platter directly to the guests’ plate.
Those are the main types of service in the restaurant and you will learn everything you need to know about them in this lesson!
