Rules and Guidelines
- Introduction and Purpose:
- The World’s Top Waiter Competition is proudly organized and hosted by The Waiter’s Academy
- Our mission with The World’s Top Waiter Competition is to celebrate the artistry and professionalism of waiters worldwide, while also elevating the perception of hospitality as a vibrant and rewarding career path. This competition is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the dedicated individuals who bring passion, skill, and excellence to their roles as waiters, and who aspire to further their careers in the dynamic field of hospitality.
- We welcome all professional waiters who embody these values and are eager to showcase their talents on the global stage. Join us in celebrating the essential role of waiters in creating unforgettable dining experiences and shaping the future of the hospitality industry!
- Registration and Video Presentation:
- Participation is open to waiters from all countries who are passionate about the hospitality industry.
- The competition will run throughout the year, culminating in a global final in June 2025.
- All participants must register online to take part in the competition.
- Contestants must currently hold a waiter position in a hospitality establishment for a minimum of two years.
- After registration, contestants must create a video introducing themselves and their experience in the hospitality industry.
- Videos should be posted on The Waiter’s Academy official Facebook page.
- Contestants must mention their name, experience, and why they believe they belong in the competition.
- Video quality (lighting, audio) will contribute to engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments).
- Social Media Engagement:
- The Waiter’s Academy will share contestant videos across all social media platforms, and engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares) will be tallied.
- Contestants are encouraged to promote their videos on their own social media channels to maximize engagement.
- Task Performance and Voting:
- Contestants will receive instructions for tasks to perform in front of the camera and post on the Facebook page.
- Ten tasks in total will be assigned, and engagement metrics will be counted for each task.
- Only the top two performers from each country will qualify as finalists, regardless of engagement metrics.
- Fair Play and Integrity:
- Contestants are prohibited from purchasing likes, comments, or shares for their videos. Any evidence of manipulation will result in disqualification.
- The scoring system for engagement metrics is as follows: Share = 3 points, Comment = 2 points, Like = 1 point.
- The top contestants with the highest total points will qualify for the finals.
- Finals and Prizes:
- Transportation, visa, accommodation, and food will be provided by The Waiter’s Academy for finalists during the finals.
- The date and location of the finals will be announced well in advance to allow contestants to clear their schedules.
- During the finals, contestants will perform high-skilled tasks in front of a jury to determine the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd place).
- Finalists who do not place in the top three will receive a $1000 reward for their participation.
- Final Competition Format:
- The final competition will follow the format of Germany’s Next Super Model, where contestants will be followed by a camera crew and participate in various activities.
- Additional Guidelines:
- Contestants are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity throughout the competition.
- Any violations of the rules or guidelines may result in disqualification from the competition.
- Data Protection:
- Personal data of participants will be collected and used in compliance with The Waiter’s Academy’s data protection policy.
- General Clauses
- By participating in the competition, contestants acknowledge and agree to abide by all terms and conditions.
- Contestants are responsible for covering all personal expenses unless alternate arrangements have been agreed upon between the contestant and The Waiter’s Academy.
- Participation in the competition is non-transferable and holds no inherent financial value.
- The Waiter’s Academy retains the authority to make final determinations on all aspects of the competition.
- Disputes and Appeals:
- In the event of any disputes or disagreements regarding the interpretation or application of the competition rules and guidelines, contestants may submit an appeal to The Waiter’s Academy for review.
- All appeals must be submitted in writing and provide clear details regarding the nature of the dispute, along with any supporting evidence or documentation.
- The Waiter’s Academy will review all appeals thoroughly and make a final decision based on the merits of the case. The decision of The Waiter’s Academy in resolving disputes or appeals shall be considered final and binding.
