-working as a busser is the beginning of almost everyone in the food and beverage industry. We start from somewhere, and usually, this is the first step. The goal in front of you and everyone else is to work hard, learn fast, and grow as quickly as possible. No matter what level of confidence, skills, and knowledge you have today, your long-term goal should be to learn and grow until you become a hotel manager or buy your own restaurant. There are countless examples of this kind of success in real life! Your short-term goals should be as follow:
- become a backup waiter (Demi-Chef de Rang) in 6 months
- become a waiter in 1 year (Chef de Rang)
- become a head waiter in 18 months
- become a supervisor in 24 months
- become a restaurant manager in 3 years
Some people will never make it out of the busser job. Some will make it only till the second or the third step. It depends only on your willingness to learn, work hard and hustle, nothing and no one else!
