The waiters at our café have been on at me to get a sofa sorted for the terrace, just somewhere out the back where they can get a breath of fresh air or have a smoke. Poor things are sometimes on their feet for hours at a stretch. A ten or fifteen minute break goes a long way. Thought I’d do something nice for them and get a small one sorted. Where in the UK would you recommend looking?
Back when I was a student, I worked as a waiter for a bit. There were shifts where you barely got to sit down, and management were always on your back the moment you stopped moving. Wouldn’t bother spending a lot on it though. An IKEA sofa would sort them out nicely for a quick breather.
It’s hard graft, waiting tables, no question. I wouldn’t scrimp on the sofa either, so the staff can properly switch off during their break. They’ll bounce back quicker and get back on the floor in better shape. Have a look at garden sofa options here: https://rengard.co.uk/product-category/outdoor-sofa-sets/ . Go for something on the softer side and your staff will be chuffed with you.
